Meet Our Team

Dr. Hocher

Dr. David Hocher is the owner of Round Rock Animal Hospital and has been practicing veterinary medicine since June of 1992. After receiving his B.A. from Baylor University in 1987, he earned his D.V.M. from Texas A&M. Dr. Hocher and his wife have 3 sons and enjoy being involved in all their activities. He and his wife are active members in their church, where he plays keyboards for the church worship band. Dr. Hocher and family have 2 Carin Terriers “Muffin” and “Coco”, a cat named “Choxie” and their chinchilla “Kiwi”. Dr. Hocher enjoys meeting and developing new relationships with other Central Texas residents and their pets. Some of his interests in veterinary medicine include preventative and dental care.

Dr. Waters

Dr. Sharon Waters is a transplant from the East Texas area. Her special interests include canine and feline internal medicine, dentistry, and wound healing.

In her free time Dr. Waters enjoys outdoor activities such as running, going to the park with her family, scrap-booking, and laughing with her two adorable little girls. She also enjoys organizing the nursery at her local church. Her cat Amber rules the house and can usually be found sleeping, asking for food, or plotting to ambush the children.

Dr. Maynor

Dr. Maynor graduated from Texas A&M’s Veterinary school in 2010. Since graduating she has worked as a small animal veterinarian in the suburbs of Houston and Fort Worth. In 2019, Dr. Maynor moved to the Austin area with her husband, son, and 3 dogs (Hanna- a Pit Bull mix; Huck- a Beagle; and Fitz- a Beagle mix). She has worked as a relief veterinarian around Austin until recently joining with Round Rock Animal Hospital. Some of Dr. Maynor’s interests in Veterinary medicine include dermatology and preventative care. In her free time, she enjoys working in her garden, watching movies, and discovering fun activities to do around Austin with her family.

Dr. McConkey

Dr. Douglas McConkey earned his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University, graduating in 1999. He is a member of both the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Dr. McConkey has a special interest in dermatology.

Outside of work, Dr. McConkey enjoys gardening and physical fitness. He is married and has two sons, as well as two cats named Diva and Cheeto.

Dr. Garcia Lindborg

Dr. Garcia Lindborg grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico- “The Land of Enchantment”. She loved working and training her family pets as a child, and like many veterinarians always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. She graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Biochemistry in 2005. She then attended Colorado State University where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2010.

Dr. Garcia Lindborg moved to Austin, Texas in 2018 with her husband and 6 fur babies. They immediately fell in love with the culture and knew they had made the perfect decision. They love that Austin is extremely pet friendly and that there is always something new to explore; not to mention all the amazing breweries and restaurants the city has to offer. In her spare time, she also enjoys dancing, hiking, movies, and training her dogs to do new tricks.

Dr. Garcia Lindborg has a passion for preventative care, the human-animal bond, animal behavior, and the fear free movement. She is Fear Free Certified, Low Stress Handling Certified, and a member of The American Society of Veterinary Medicine (AVASB). She is also a member of The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), and the American Animal Hospital of America (AAHA).

Dr. Garcia Lindborg feels that nothing is more rewarding than providing great client education to help pet parents make the right medical decisions for their pets. She truly loves this profession and strives to provide the compassion and care needed for everyone facing uncertainty and stress when coming to a veterinary clinic. She wants to make sure your fur baby is well taken care of and stays happy and healthy while at the veterinary clinic. She is extremely excited to join the Round Rock Animal Hospital family and cannot wait to meet you and your furry family members.
